Welcome to Martin Meylin Middle School!

What's New for 2025-2026

Main Entrance/Office Location

The Main Entrance and Main Office are currently located at the north end of our building at the door closest to the Hans Herr Elementary Gymnasium. Visitors should utilize the visitor parking spaces in the Hans Herr Gymnasium loop and will access the doorbell at the new main entry door at the far left of the building.

Visitors who are entering the building for meetings with staff will need to present their photo ID to receive a visitor's badge. Students arriving after the start of the school day or being picked up early will need to enter/exit through the new Main Entrance door.

Please contact the school office with any questions.

Morning Drop-Off/Afternoon Dismissal

All Martin Meylin students will continue to be dropped off in the Hans Herr Gymnasium loop. Please read the following information carefully:

Procedure: Those dropping students off in the morning should pull into the gymnasium loop off of Rosier Way. Parents should pull all the way into the loop as far as possible. Please do not stop at the crosswalk to let your student out of the vehicle. When all cars have safely come to a stop, students should exit cars and proceed to the sidewalk. Please encourage your student to exit your vehicle as soon as you have safely stopped so that there is a constant unloading of students as the loop fills.

Students exiting on the passenger side of vehicles should walk around the front of their own vehicle to proceed to the sidewalk. Students will enter the building at the new  Main Entrance. Sixth grade students who do not need to enter the building for breakfast may proceed directly to the sixth-grade Modular Learning Area using the sidewalk between Martin Meylin and Hans Herr.

Cars may exit the lot when it is safe to do so, as directed by Martin Meylin staff. Exiting traffic will turn left onto Rosier Way, allowing room in the drop-off loop for the next group of vehicles, and will proceed to the high school drop-off or to the Book Road exit.

At no time should students be exiting cars on Rosier Way.

Timing: The front doors to Martin Meylin will open at 7:20 am. Students dropped off prior to 7:20am, but not before 7:05am, must walk around the north end of the building, using the sidewalk, and enter at the cafeteria bus loop doors. At no time will students be permitted to gather on the front porch of Martin Meylin or on the sidewalks. Any student arriving prior to 7:20 am should be dropped off and must use the cafeteria bus loop entrance to enter.

At 7:20 am, staff will open the front doors for student entry until 7:30 am. Any student arriving after 7:30 am will be considered tardy and must proceed to the new Main Entrance and use the doorbell to enter the building.

Afternoon dismissal: Students who are picked up in the afternoon will continue to be dismissed through the bus loop and front entry doors for pick up in the baseball parking lot across Rosier Way, opposite from the Hans Herr Gymnasium entrance.

Student safety is a primary concern. We will continue to monitor the drop-off procedure and communicate any necessary changes that may arise due to student safety.
